The latest installment in the Halloween series will be titled Halloween Returns. It will be a standalone effort (unrelated to the original franchise and also separate from Rob Zombie’s reboots). It is being reported that the film will be set many years after Michael Myers initial massacre.
Halloween Returns will see a new group of youngsters going up against the masked madman. One of the teens is actually the child of one of the victims from Myers’ initial rampage. I am very curious to learn exactly who that will be and how it will tie in to the original. Another member of the group is the child of a police officer who has become obsessed with Myers in an unhealthy way.
The current state of events sees Mr. Myers sitting on Death row for his various crimes against humanity. But naturally, he escapes and the aforementioned group of teens wind up in the madman’s line of fire!
According to Movie Hole, the studio is currently casting the film. As far as we know, this latest installment is being produced from a script penned by Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton (the duo responsible for The Collector and The Collection).
