We have just learned that Fox has cast Hannah Kasulka (True Blood alum) to appear in the upcoming small screen reboot of The Exorcist. Naturally, the series will be at least loosely based on William Peter Blatty’s novel of the same name.
According to Deadline “Hannah Kasulka will play Casey Rance, the wallflower of the family. Casey is worried about her sister Charlotte (Brianne Howey), who has been holed up in her room ever since her serious accident.”
From what we have gathered, Brianne Howey will be playing the character that becomes possessed. The pilot was written by Jeremy Slater (The Lazarus Effect). Rupert Wyatt will be assuming directorial duties on the first episode. The show is being described as “a propulsive, serialized psychological thriller following two very different men tackling one family’s case of horrifying demonic possession and confronting the face of true evil.”
No word at this point on when the show will commence principal photography or when we can expect it to make its debut on television. But stay tuned for more news on the small screen adaptation of The Exorcist and all of the latest horror news as it is announced by the network!
