Today brings the news that Gina Phillips (Jeepers Creepers) may be poised to reprise her role from the 2001 original film. A BD tipster close to the production has suggested that this is the case but there has been no official confirmation from director Victor Salva or else anyone willing to go on the record about this latest casting rumor. It would be great to see Phillips return. And that was originally the plan when the film was being billed as Jeepers Creepers: Cathedral. But it looks like we will have to wait for further word before we can definitively prove or disprove this latest round of scuttlebutt.
The tipster also told the outlet that The Creeper’s van and his BEATINGU license plate will play a major role in this latest installment.
What we know about the third installment in the series so far is that Victor Salva will be returning to write and direct and actors Jonathan Breck (The Creeper) and Brandon Smith (Sergeant Tubbs) will also be reprising their roles.
As for the storyline: The latest installment is expected to see Tubbs joining forces with a task force intent upon destroying The Creeper for once and for all. Naturally, chaos ensues and nothing goes according to plan.
Jeepers Creepers 3 is slated to go into production in Vancouver BC next month. Francis Ford Coppola (who produced the first two) has signed on to co-produce the threequel with Odyssey Media, and The Cartel. Kirk D’Amico has come aboard to executive produce.
It’s surprising that this has taken as long as it has, seeing as how the two previous films collectively grossed over $120 million at the global box office. Stay tuned for more on this title as it is announced!
