Kevin Williamson Penned Jack the Ripper Series Heads to ABC

We have learned via Deadline that the Kevin Williamson created Jack the Ripper series Time After Time is headed for ABC. The show has cast Josh Bowman (as Jack the Ripper) and has also announced that Freddie Stroma will feature (as H.G. Wells).

The series will reportedly be using the novel Time After Time and the 1979 feature film of the same name as a jumping off point. The film imagines what might have happened if H.G. Wells had built a time machine and used it to chase Jack the Ripper.

Williamson wrote the screenplay for Scream, Scream 2, Scream 4, and a variety of television pilots, including The Following, Stalker, The Secret Circle, The Vampire Diaries, and more.

Jack the Ripper is the name assigned to an anonymous serial killer from the White Chapel area of London who was active in the late 1880s. There are many ideas about who he may have been but his true identity was never uncovered and he was never caught.
