We have a major announcement for you. Starz has already greenlit Ash vs. Evil Dead for a season two and the show hasn’t even premiered yet. That is somewhat unprecedented but definitely shows that the network has faith in the program. It also probably has a lot to do with my favorable review, which you can check out right here! Just joking, about my influence, that is. You really can read my review there. The show will premiere on Starz Saturday October 31 at 9 PM.
As we previously reported, the network has ordered a total of ten episodes. But now it looks like there will be a minimum of twenty. Sam Raimi, Rob Tapert, Bruce Campbell, and Craig DiGregorio will be executive producing assumed directorial duties on the pilot episode (for which he penned with his brother Ivan).
“The cast is led by Bruce Campbell (Evil Dead) in the role of Ash Williams, Lucy Lawless (Spartacus) as Ruby a mysterious figure who believes Ash is the cause of the Evil outbreaks, Ray Santiago (Touch) as Pablo Simon Bolivar, an idealistic immigrant who becomes Ash’s loyal sidekick, Dana DeLorenzo (A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas) as Kelly Maxwell, a moody wild child trying to outrun her past and Jill Marie Jones (Sleepy Hollow) as Amanda Fisher, a disgraced Michigan State Trooper set to find our anti-hero Ash and prove his responsibility in the grisly murder of her partner.”
