We have lots of interesting news to report on The Strangers 2. The project has found all three of its leads. Christina Hendricks (The Neon Demon), Bailee Madison (Don’t be Afraid of the Dark), and Lewis Pullman (Aftermath) will star as a family on a cross country road trip who take refuge in a trailer park, only to find that they are being targeted by a trio of malevolent ‘strangers’.
BD is reporting that ‘The Strangers’ will actually be recast. The outlet spoke with actor Kip Weeks (who played ‘The Man in the Mask) who confirmed that the plan is to recast all of the masked characters from the original film. Weeks appeared alongside Gemma Ward (who played ‘Dollface’) and Laura Margolis (who played ‘Pin-up Girl’). This is disappointing news, seeing as how the trio of strangers deftly terrified audiences in the first film. But recasting isn’t always bad. Case in point: Kane Hodder as Jason Voorhees.
Johannes Roberts (The Other Side of the Door) will be at the helm of the project. Bryan Bertino (who wrote and directed the original) and Ben Ketai penned the screenplay.
The picture is currently in preproduction and is slated to being lensing May 30th. Stay tuned to the site for more details on this project and the latest in horror news as we learn it! And, in the meantime, let us know your thoughts on the latest round of updates in the comments section!
