Frances O’Connor has come aboard the James Wan helmed sequel to The Conjuring. She will join previously announced cast members Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga, according to THR. The film is slated to begin lensing later this month.
The Conjuring sequel will hit cinemas June 10, 2016. With Wan on board to direct, hopefully this will turn out better than the Annabelle spinoff did.
The Conjuring 2: The Enfield Poltergeist was reportedly green lit prior to The Conjuring even having hit theaters. New Line and Warner Brothers had faith in the picture very early on. And their confidence proved to be well warranted. The Conjuring is one of the highest grossing horror films of all time. In fact, since the film’s release it has been classified as the fourth highest grossing horror film of all time. The story of Ed and Lorraine Warren struck a chord with audiences and their exploits will again take center stage in the 2015 sequel.
The Conjuring 2 is set to explore a case where the mother of a young girl (O’Connor) is badly in need of help when her daughter is haunted by a nasty ghost. Stay tuned to the site in the coming months for more news on this and other titles.
