The Predator Has Been Pushed to Summer 2018

The Predator

Well, this is a little disappointing. Fox has pushed Shane Black’s The Predator from its February 2018 slot all the way back to August 3, 2018. Although it’s a bummer that we’ll have to wait an additional six month to see the film, positioning it for a summer release does seem to suggest that the studio has faith in the project.

The film’s cast includes Boyd Holbrook, Keegan Michael Key, Alfie Allen, Edward James Olmos, Sterling K. Brown, Jacob Tremblay, Olivia Munn, Thomas Jane, Jake Busey, and Yvonne Strahovski.

Benicio del Toro was tapped to star at one point but was later replaced by Boyd Holbrook due to a scheduling conflict.

Shane Black recently told the folks at ComingSoon that the Predator will be getting some serious upgrades in terms of costume design, as well as abilities.

The Predator is a collaboration between writer Fred Dekker (The Monster Squad) and director Shane Black.

When the project was first announced, it was revealed that this would be a direct sequel to the first film, ignoring everything that came after it.

Stay tuned to the site in the coming months for more on this project as we learn it, as well as the latest in horror news.
