Fool’s Run, a dark thriller with supernatural undertones from Wicked Horror contributor Sidney Williams, is now available for pre-order from all retailers in trade paper and ebook formats. It will be officially released Nov. 24 by Gordian Knot, the crime-mystery imprint of Crossroad Press.
The book has already drawn praise from Publisher’s Weekly: “This thriller-cum-caper will keep readers eagerly turning the pages.”
“It’s a bit of a departure for me, but it was an exciting story to write,” noted Sidney, a former newspaper reporter whose work included the crime beat.

The tale opens with a shock. The father of kidnapped daughters is forced to listen via a phone call to the voices of his terrified daughters as gunshots explode. Soon, hired by the bereaved parents, Si Reardon, an ex-cop fresh out of prison, is propelled into a twisted game with a Russian businessman whose criminal ties run deep. It’s a job no one wants, but Si’s desperate to get back on his feet. He’s quickly hurled into a world of trafficking, money laundering and hints of dark and ancient magic.

“This novel began with just a spark and some free writing,” Sidney said. “Si went through a few paces, a twist presented itself, and I knew there was a tale to tell and where it was going to lead.”
Williams is the author of horror thrillers including Dark Hours, Night Brothers and Blood Hunter, and Midnight Eyes.
