In keeping with their consistently strong slate of quality, must-have collectors’ item releases of cult classics, Arrow Video have announced an upcoming 2K, remastered Blu-ray of Creepshow 2–available in either a standard or special edition format.
The 1987 anthology, written by the incomparable George A. Romero from stories by the legendary Stephen King holds a special place in the hearts of horror fans of a certain age.
In “Old Chief Wood’nhead”, a group of young hoodlums face retribution from an unlikely source after looting a local hardware store. Meanwhile, “The Raft” sees a group of horny teens wishing they’d read the warning signs first before taking a dip in a remote lake. Finally, an uptight businesswoman finds herself with some unwanted company following a hit-and-run incident in “The Hitch-hiker
Arrow made the announcement on their official Facebook page, noting that Creepshow 2:
whilst retaining the EC comic book flavour that made the original such a hit…is a decidedly darker and grimmer affair than its predecessor and remains one of the greatest horror anthologies of all time
The two, new editions are packed with special features and each boasts some seriously breathtaking artwork (check it all out for yourself below).
The Blu-ray of Creepshow 2 will be released by Arrow Video on December 13th, for North American audiences.
