The plot details for the upcoming Terminator film suggest that Arnold Schwarzenegger will once again star as a Terminator sent back in time to protect a young Sarah Connor. The story will wreak havoc on the already fractured continuity of the Terminator franchise by recreating scenes from the first two films in the series. Terminator Genisys will also feature a man-machine hybrid as its primary antagonist which the filmmakers describe as a “visual game changer.”
Terminator Genisys stars Arnold Schwarzenegger (Maggie), Jason Clarke (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes), Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones), Jai Courtney (Divergent), J.K. Simmons (Dark Skies), Dayo Okeniyi (The Hunger Games), Byung Hun Lee (I Saw the Devil) and Matt Smith (Doctor Who). Terminator Genisys is directed by Thor: The Dark World‘s Alan Taylor from a screenplay by Laeta Kalogridis (Night Watch) and Patrick Lussier (Drive Angry). Terminator Genisys is the first in a planned trilogy of films. It will arrive in theaters July 1, 2015.
