Spotlight Pictures has just announced that they will be representing the foreign sales rights for the Jennifer Lawrence starring mystery thriller TheDevil You Know.
The film is directed by James Oakley. It is written by Alex Michaelides. This is Michaelides first feature script and James Oakley’s sophomore feature film directorial effort. The Devil You Know stars Rosamund Pike (Gone Girl), Lena Olin (Enemies: A Love Story), Dean Winters (John Wick) and Jennifer Lawrence (The Hunger Games).
The Devil You Know tells the story of Zoe Hughes (Rosamund Pike), who is a struggling actress trapped in the shadows of her reclusive ex-movie star mother Kathryn Vale (Lena Olin). Zoe’s career is derailed when Kathryn attempts to make a career comeback; subsequently Kathryn begins receiving threats by an anonymous blackmailer. She must choose to confront the truth or pay the price of fame.
The film will be on display at the European Film Market, where Spotlight Pictures will be repping international sales of the picture. The film didn’t make much of a splash in the States. It is currently available to US audiences via VOD outlets. But in spite of having a noteworthy cast, it has yet to secure a DVD or Blu-ray release in the US as of this posting.
