The band’s first appearance of 2016 will be at the Turning Stone Resort Casino in Verona, New York on May 24th. The venue is located about four hours outside of New York City. The band formed last year with the aim of paying tribute to the iconic rock music of the 1970s.
Alice Cooper acknowledged to Rolling Stone that it is often very difficult just to get everyone together with their various outside commitments. “We have to carefully schedule the Vampires,” said Cooper. “That’s because you have Johnny’s movie schedule; you’ve got Aerosmith; you’ve got Guns N’ Roses and you’ve got me! It’s five entities going in five different directions. To get those guys all at one time when we’re not working is really unique. So everybody looks at their calendar, and you have to find that two weeks where everybody’s off.”
Cooper also revealed that in addition to working a new solo record, he is also hard at work on an album with Hollywood Vampires.
The band is made up of Alice Cooper, Joe Perry (Aerosmith), Duff McKagan (Guns N’ Roses), Matt Sorum (Velvet Revolver) and Johnny Depp (Edward Scissorhands).
