Synapse to Release Prom Night on Blu-Ray in September

Blu-ray packaging for Paul Lynch's Prom Night.

Genre film distributor Synapse is really hitting it out of the park with their current catalogue of re-releases. They recently brought the Canadian cult classic Curtains to blu-ray and now they are gearing up to bring the ’80s slasher Prom Night to blu-ray for the first time as well.

The film is now available for pre-order via the Synapse website for 24.99 or through Amazon for $19.99. The street date is set for September 9, 2014. This release will feature a brand new transfer of the film from the original 35 MM negative and a ton of awesome bonus content.

The events that occur in the ’80s slasher Prom Night are set in motion by the accidental death of a young girl. The accident is so haunting to one individual that six years after the event, they strike out and seek vigilante justice against the group of friends involved in the mishap. At first, the group thinks someone is playing a sick prank but they quickly discover that it’s not a game when members of their posse begin to die violent deaths at the hands of a deranged madman.
