Ash Vs. Evil Dead may have wrapped up a lot sooner than most fans expected, but Bruce Campbell isn’t saying goodbye to the franchise that made his name just yet. In a new interview, the legendary actor revealed that there’s more to come from the Evil Dead universe yet, even if it’s not in the guise we might be expecting, or hoping for.
Speaking to Inquisitr about his new job as host of Ripley’s Believe It or Not, Campbell confirmed, once again, that he’s done playing Ash — at least, that is, in the physical realm.
I’m still doing video games… I’m doing voices for Ash. I’m just not going to grovel in the blood anymore.
Fair enough. However, although he’s not sure Fede Alvarez, who helmed the well-received Evil Dead reboot, would return for another go…
Fede’s a big Hollywood director now. I don’t know if Fede needs this. We’ll have to see.
… Campbell wanted to make it clear the franchise isn’t dead and buried. If anything, there are plenty more stories to tell within this universe, ones that he’s eager to take a crack at.
[Fans are] going to see different versions, they’re going to be seeing more Evil Dead, too. We’re not done with the Evil Dead saga. More stories to tell.
It’s not much to go on, but considering the backlash over the abrupt cancellation of Ash Vs. Evil Dead, any news is good news.
