Great news for Deathgasm fans. Not only has Jason Lei Howden been working on a script for the sequel, he also promises more gore in the first ten minutes of the follow up than in the entirety of the first film. Wow. The director took to his Instagram page to share a snapshot of the cover page of his screenplay for the second installment (pictured below). The title for the sequel: Deathgasm 2: Goremageddon.
Howden captioned the image with the following statement: “So I just finished this. There is literally more gore in the first 10 minutes than the entire first #Deathgasm. If you kinda liked the first, this will make your head implode. If you thought the first Deathgasm was puerile, juvenile and dumb then Goremageddon will melt your face off and force you to barricade yourself inside, safe with some Terrance Malik and Coldplay.”
Deathgasm follows New kid in school Milo has no one in the world to relate to until he meets fellow metalhead Zakk. Together, the guys form a band called Deathgasm and inadvertently unleash Satanic chaos on the world when they come across a piece of possessed sheet music. The guys must then band together and attempt to stop the evil they have let loose.
The original film stars Milo Hawthorne (Blood Punch), Kimberly Crossman (A Beginner’s Guide to Snuff), and newcomer James Blake. No word just yet on when cameras will role or which (if any) original cast members will be returning for the sequel.
Howden shared the image a while ago but for some reason, we missed it until this morning when another site happened to report on it. So, we are bringing it to your attention, now.
