On Friday, May 13th, Spike TV is staging a marathon of Friday the 13th films in celebration of one of the spookiest days of the year. Not to be outdone, SyFy is running a marathon of their own, featuring the films of Freddy Krueger. Not since Freddy vs. Jason have the icons gone toe-to-toe in such a match up.

SyFy’s marathon will begin at 7:30 AM EST with New Nightmare, followed by the first five installments in the series. Spike’s marathon begins tonight at 11:30 PM PST and will continue all day Friday. It will feature every film from the original series, sans Jason Goes to Hell.
