The Canadian Halloween-themed horror film, and festival darling, Hellions is finally set to arrive on DVD and Blu-Ray this coming February 2nd.
The flick takes place over one Halloween night and follows a pregnant young woman named Dora, who finds herself trapped in her home and terrorised by sinister trick-or-treaters. The kids, naturally, turn out to be mini-demons in disguise and Dora is thrust into a dangerous game of cat-and-mouse as she tries to escape with herself, and her unborn child, intact.
Hellions had its world premiere at Sundance last year, as part of the popular “Park City At Midnight” showcase, and its Canadian premiere at the fortieth anniversary of the Toronto International Film Festival.
Hellions also played exceptionally well for the tough, horror-centric crowd at Frightfest 2015 (check out our review from the festival here).
The film is directed by Pontypool helmer Bruce Mc Donald, scripted by Pascal Trottier (who also has a writing credit on A Christmas Horror Story) and stars talented newcomer Chloe Rose in the lead role.
Designs of the kid demons have already drawn comparisons to Trick ‘r’ Treat‘s infamous Sam–high praise indeed.
