Jigsaw (review) has been dated for home video. Wicked Horror has learned that the film will hit Digital HD January 9th and Blu-ray Combo Pack, 4K Ultra HD, and DVD January 23rd.
The film stars Tobin Bell, Laura Vandervoot (Smallville), Callum Keith Rennie (Memento), Brittany Allen (It Stains the Sands Red), Matt Passmore (The Glades), and Hannah Emily Anderson (Lizzy Borden Took an Ax).
The Spierig Brothers were at the helm of the film. The pair previously directed Daybreakers for LionsGate.
Saw marks the horror film debut of powerhouse director James Wan (The Conjuring) and the first feature film collaboration between Wan and Saw co-writer Leigh Whannell.
Saw follows the plight of two men that wake up trapped in an unfamiliar room, restrained by chains – a dead body lies between them. The pair are given a series of specific instructions by which they must abide and tasks they must complete if they are to make it out with their lives intact. Their will to live and resolve will be tested and their survival will ultimately depend on how much they are willing to sacrifice.
Jigsaw sees a series of crimes similar to those committed by John Kramer and his followers. The surprising thing is that the late John Kramer appears to be behind the latest rash of murders. Could it be a clever copycat or is Jigsaw back from the dead?
