MTV Places Season Three Order for Scream: The TV Series

Prior to the upcoming Halloween special (Tuesday, October 18 @ 9:00 PM0, MTV has made the announcement that they have renewed original series Scream for a third season. Unlike the first two outings, the third season will consist of only six episodes.

No word on just where season three will take the storyline but it’s likely that it will continue to follow the Lakewood Six as the previous two seasons have done.

The first season of the program follows a group of high school students who are being targeted by an unknown killer. The cast includes Willa Fitzgerald (Alpha House), John Karna, Connor Weil (Sharknado), Carlson Young and Amadeus Serafini.

Jill Blotevogel (Harper’s Island) serves as the series’  executive producer and showrunner on season one she also rewrote the original script by Jay Beattie and Dan Dworkin. Wes Craven was also credited as additional executive producer.

No word yet on when season three will premiere on the cable network. But stay tuned to the site in the coming months for more on this project as we learn it.
