New Trailer for Jordan Peele’s Us Will Haunt Your Nightmares

Jordan Peele gave horror fans an extra treat during this weekend’s Super Bowl with a brand-new teaser trailer for his upcoming flick Us. Very deliberately titled “Nightmare,” the clip evokes that same feeling of escalating dread first felt in the initial trailer.

The movie, which is due in theaters very soon, is Peele’s follow-up to the Oscar-winning mega-hit Get Out. Written, directed, and produced by the man himself, Us is sure to follow in the footsteps of that game-changing horror debut/satirical social realist chamber piece.

Set in modern day on the Northern California coastline, the flick features fellow Oscar-winner Lupita Nyong’o as Adelaide Wilson, who returns to her idyllic childhood beach-side home alongside husband Gabe (Black Panther’s Winston Duke), and their two young kids (newcomers Shahadi Wright Joseph, Evan Alex) for what they think is going to be a relaxing summer vacation.

Instead, the family is haunted by visions of their supposed doppelgängers, who seem to be showing up as a result of unresolved trauma from Adelaide’s past. She finds her paranoia escalating to an excruciating degree as it becomes increasingly evident something very bad is about to happen.

Elisabeth Moss, Tim Heidecker, Cali Sheldon, and Noelle Sheldon also feature as family friends in the film produced by Peele’s own Monkeypaw Productions. Us marks their first solo production venture. Horror wunderkind Jason Blum is also producing, with Universal set to release.

Us drops in theaters on March 22, 2019. Check out the teaser trailer below and stay tuned to Wicked Horror for more info on the flick in the coming weeks.
