The Conjuring is in the top five grossing horror movies of all time, so chances are many of you remember ‘Annabelle’, the creepy doll that just wants a bit of attention, featured at the start of James Wan’s hit movie.
Now, developed by Warner Bros and New Line Cinema, with Peter Safran to produce, the script written by Gary Dauberman, and John R. Leonetti set to direct, Annabelle brings us her backstory explored in this hopefully horrifying spin-off.
Annabelle, the movie of the same name, finds a young couple (Annabelle Wallis and Ward Horton) preparing for the arrival of their first child. As a surprise, the thoughtful husband has tracked down the one doll the mother-to-be was seeking to complete a collection of weird period figurines she likes to collect.
Unfortunately for the unknowing couple Annabelle is a demon doll, possessed by a malevolent spirit who enjoys causing chaos and killing people in a variety of horrific ways. Our protagonists are going to wish they’d just gone for a good old regular teddy bears.
Starring Alfre Woodard, Brian Howe, Eric Ladin and Michelle Romano among the cast, Annabelle will be haunting our screens from the 3rd October 2014 in the USA, the 10th October in the UK and dates in-between those for other parts of the world.
Can’t wait! I miss her!
