The first trailer and one sheet for Tim Burton’s latest foray into dark fantasy have just dropped. We have both available for you to check out after the break. They are both featured below.
The trailer is very much representative of Tim Burton’s typical visual aesthetic but it features a fairly unexpected appearance by a gnarly looking monster near the end. Unexpected to me, as someone who is not familiar with the source material, that is.
The film stars Eva Green, Asa Butterfield, Ella Purnell, Allison Janney, Terence Stamp, Rupert Everett, with Judi Dench and Samuel L. Jackson. Jane Goldman (Kick-Ass) penned the script.
“When Jake discovers clues to a mystery that spans alternate realities and times, he uncovers a secret refuge known as Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. As he learns about the residents and their unusual abilities, Jake realizes that safety is an illusion, and danger lurks in the form of powerful, hidden enemies. Jake must figure out who is real, who can be trusted, and who he really is.”
The feature is based on the best selling novel by Ransom Riggs. It will see a wide theatrical release September 30, 2016. In the meantime, let us know your first impressions in the comments section provided!
