Astron 6’s giallo throwback The Editor has finally secured a US release date after locking down stateside distribution with Scream Factory. We have the full announcement and a look at the reversible Blu-ray artwork for you after the break!
The Editor made its debut at the Toronto International Film Festival and recently screened at AFM. It tells the story of a film editor named Rey who becomes embroiled in a puzzling and complex murder mystery. When the studio that employs him is plagued by a rash of unexplained deaths, Rey is caught in the middle. The only thing he can be certain of is that nothing is what it seems.
Scream Factory will be releasing the film on DVD and Blu September 8, 2015. In the meantime, check out the kick-ass reversible artwork below. You can pre-order your copy here!
Tristan Risk (American Mary) and Udo Kier (Blade) star with Adam Brooks and Matthew Kennedy of Astron 6 at the helm. Brooks and Kennedy are responsible for the epically low budget Manborg and the Troma exploitation flick Father’s Day.
The Editor is an homage to the giallo films of cinematic legends like Dario Argento and Mario Bava. It garnered rave reviews from it’s advance screenings at TIFF. Be sure to check this one out in the fall and stay tuned for our official review!
