It’s already been a pretty big week for the king of monsters. Fresh off its massive, world-destroying box office success Godzilla: Resurgence is set to shock even further thanks to a new featurette that shows the amazing digital effects process used to bring the creature to life onscreen.
The short video, which you can check out for yourself below, gives just a glimpse of the amount of time, skill, effort and patience that went into bringing the titular creature to fruition on-screen. And, suffice to say, it’s pretty awe-inspiring.
Horror is a genre that, these days, seems to favour practical over CGI for the most part – so much so that sometimes we forget about the artistic skills behind making something like this appropriately tactile.
Godzilla: Resurgence is set to hit theaters later this year. The plot outline is tantalisingly mysterious, much like the creature itself. See below for the official synopsis:

Immediately afterwards, a huge creature appears, destroying town after town on a path of destruction to the nation’s capital… an unfathomable giant organism known as “Godzilla”
