Norman Bates fans can rejoice. A&E Network announced today that it has picked up a third season of Bates Hotel, the cable tv series about a younger Norman Bates from the classic Alfred Hitchcock movie Psycho.
David McKillop, Executive Vice President and General Manager of A&E Network said “The brilliant twists and turns of the past two seasons keep its loyal fan base coming back for more. We are so proud of the show.”
If you haven’t seen Bates Motel, you should definitely know it’s set in modern times, showing us how Norman Bates slowly becomes the psycho he is famous for being for.
At this Bates Motel, Norman’s mother is still alive and not yet a mummified corpse, which is a good thing for the actress Vera Farmiga, who has already been nominated for an Emmy in her role as Norman’s mother. Freddie Highmore plays a young Norman and has more than a passing resemblance to Anthony Perkins.
Bates Motel currently airs every Monday at 10 PM/ET.
