Shami Media Group has acquired distribution rights to the indie horror-thriller Gravedigger. The distributor will grant the film a limited theatrical release with a simultaneous VOD exhibition beginning in November.
An official release date of November 18, 2014 has been announced. The film was lensed in Point Pleasant Beach, New Jersey just months after the region was ravaged by Hurricane Sandy.
Gravedigger is directed by Doug Bollinger in his sophomore feature film directorial effort with Joseph and Billy Pepitone (The Meat Puppet) penning the screenplay. The film stars Keith Collins (The Jersey Devil) and Brandon Ruckdashel (The Meat Puppet).
Gravedigger follow criminal defense attorney Steve Borden. He is an up and comer at a local law firm and has a reputation for defending those with no defense. But after one of his cases takes a sinister turn, the counselor finds himself unable to clear his conscience. Adding to the already complicated situation are one of the town’s top police officers who appears to have ties to organized crime and a DA that suspects foul play within the department. The three of them initially suspect one another of wrongdoing when a series of unsolved murders begin to occur but soon each man comes to realize that there may be a more malevolent force at work.
