Hellraiser: Judgment Set For Limited Theatrical Release?

Hellraiser: Judgment

Last we heard, the official release date for the hugely-anticipated Hellraiser: Judgment was March 28, 2017, as confirmed by actor Paul T. Taylor (stepping into Pinhead’s large, latex boots) and the movie’s IMDb page.

Now, it seems there may be further info to celebrate as writer/director Gary J. Tunnifcliffe – and the franchise’s makeup artist prior to this movie – discussed in podcast 60 Minutes With that the film may even be set for a limited theatrical release:

Apparently they [Dimension] did see it and think, “We may do a limited theatrical on it”. But, I don’t know. They will release it when they see fit. It could be soon, it could be later. It could be theatrical, it could not be. I’m sure I’ll be the last to know.

Tunnicliffe confirmed, at the very least, that the movie is ready to go. And that he, for one, is happy with the finished product:

All I can say is, the movie is finished. It’s edited, got sound and music, and it’s all done. There’s a trailer, which I just saw. There’s a poster, which is really f**king cool. It’s utterly brilliant. I hope to god they use it. It’s not a big Photoshop thing, it’s like a Drew Struzan picture. It’s lovely.

As previously reported, Taylor will be taking over as Pinhead in this new installment. The film also stars Damon Carney (The Hitcher 2007), Randy Wayne (True Blood), Alexandra Harris (The Veil 2016), John Gulagher (Director of Piranha 3DD and Feast), Diane Goldner (The Collector), the legendary Heather Langenkamp (A Nightmare on Elm Street), Mike Jay Regan (Hellraiser: Inferno), Jeff Fenter (The Final), Grace Montie (Southern Tale) and newcomer Helena Grace Donald.

As for the story, here’s the official synopsis:

Detectives Sean and David Carter are on the case to find a gruesome serial killer terrorizing the city. Joining forces with Detective Christine Egerton, they dig deeper into a spiraling maze of horror that may not be of this world. Could the Judgment awaiting the killer’s victims also be waiting for Sean?

Stay tuned to Wicked Horror for more updates on Hellraiser: Judgment as they are announced.
