Artist Newt Clements has become somewhat of an Internet sensation as of late for the Happy Meal mock ups he has been sharing via his Pinterest page. They have been popping up all over Facebook, Tumblr, and a variety of other social media outlets. Clements has put together imaginary Happy Meals featuring all sorts of pop culture mainstays. But what has captured our attention are his genre film and television themed Happy Meal designs. His horror Happy Meal creations include The Evil Dead, Alien, Friday the 13th, Carrie, Phantasm, Re-animator, and many more! You can check out a sampling of our favorites inside.
There is a high level of irony in Clements’ work, which makes his creations all the more amusing. He includes a prize with each Happy Meal and that is often the best part. If any of these actually existed, it would cause an outrage but I would certainly find myself eating at McDonald’s a lot more than I do now.
