Rumors are swirling that Marvel might just be planning a new Blade feature film. Rumblings indicate that the proposed feature would be based on the yet-to-be-released comic series that will feature Blade’s daughter. Bleeding Cool hears from a source close to Marvel that the delay in releasing the new book series may be quite calculated. The source tells the site that the mucky mucks at Marvel are very interested in moving forward with another film and it is expected to be based on that set of books.
Wesley Snipes mentioned as recently as this year’s San Diego ComicCon that there has been discussion regarding a potential sequel. But if it is to be based on the new comic series, it may see Snipes taking a smaller role in the picture and appearing as more of a father figure.
Tim Seeley will pen the upcoming comic series with Logan Faerber doing the artwork. The previous three Blade films have made a collective total of over $400 Million at the global box office.
