Matt Bomer (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning) has just been confirmed as a guest star for the forthcoming series American Horror Story: Freakshow. Ryan Murphy told EW that he offered the actor first right of refusal for the role via text message. Murphy warned Bomer that the role was very warped but said that he was up for the challenge. Murphy also mentioned that he will have to work around Bomer’s shooting schedule for the upcoming Magic Mike sequel to film his scenes.
This casting announcement comes on the heels of two teaser trailers and an official premiere date announcement (October 8th). More specifics as to what role Bomer will play have not yet been revealed but we will keep you apprised as more news breaks.
The fourth season of the popular FX horror series will reportedly feature conjoined twins, the world’s shortest woman, and a variety of other characters yet to be announced.
American Horror Story: Freak Show will see returning cast members Jessica Lange, Evan Peters, Kathy Bates, Emma Roberts, Angela Bassett Frances Conroy, and more. The series has also added several new faces to the upcoming season; including Michael Chiklis, Patti LaBelle, Wes Bentley, and several others.
American Horror Story: Freakshow will take place in 1950 in Jupiter, Florida, which was the home of an actual ‘freak show’ at that time. From the sound of it, the series may be loosely based on some actual events that occurred at the Jupiter ‘freak show’ – which was among the last freak shows in existence in the US. With the premiere date less than two months away and two teaser trailers already released, we should be hearing more very soon.
