A new poster for the upcoming horror film The Editor has surfaced. This concept art goes perfectly with the film’s retro-inspired theme. The Editor is set to premier at the Toronto International Film Festival.
The Editor tells the story of a film editor named Rey who becomes embroiled in a puzzling murder mystery. The film studio he is employed by is plagued with a rash of unexplained deaths and Rey is caught in the middle. The only thing he can be certain of is that nothing is what it seems.
The film stars Tristan Risk (American Mary) and Udo Kier (Blade) with Adam Brooks and Matthew Kennedy serving as directors. Brooks and Kennedy are the creative team behind the epically low budget Manborg and the Troma exploitation film Father’s Day.
An NSFW teaser trailer has been making the rounds online and it is will likely appeal to fans of the giallo films of the ’70s and ’80s. If the trailer is a true representation of the film, I think The Editor has a good chance of becoming a modern cult classic. As a big fan of both giallo films and Brooks & Kennedy, I am looking forward to the release of this upcoming feature.
Though a stateside release date has not yet been decided, we will be sure to keep you apprised as more information is made available.
