We were recently treated to a teaser image for the upcoming Predator sequel from the film’s official Facebook Page. Today, we have a release date for the film! Head past the jump for the full announcement!
The film is scheduled for release March 2nd, 2018. It is a collaboration between writer Fred Dekker (The Monster Squad) and director Shane Black (Kiss Kiss Bang Bang). Decker made the announcement last year that he had finished his treatment of the script but things were fairly quiet on the Predator front until recently. The recently released teaser image appears to allude to the film being called The Predator. However, that’s not yet been officially confirmed by the studio. We still don’t know when production is slated to begin but with a release date announced, it’s likely heading into production in the near future.
When the project was first announced, it was rumored that this would be a direct sequel to the first film, ignoring all the others that came after it. That seems to be an emerging trend with films like Texas Chainsaw and the now defunct Halloween Returns taking a similar approach. However, we don’t have any official confirmation on that, just yet.
Stay tuned to the site in the coming months for more on this as it is announced as well as the latest in horror news and more!
