Today is a very sad day for the horror community at large. We have just learned of the passing of Angus Scrimm (who played The Tall Man in the Phantasm series). Scrimm was born August 19, 1926 in Kansas as Lawrence Rory Guy. He died Saturday, January 9th. Scrimm was one of a kind and he leaves behind an adoring legion of fans that have been touched by his films. He was 89 when he passed.
Scrimm repeatedly worked with Don Coscarelli, first on Jim, The World’s Greatest and throughout the Phantasm series, as well as John Dies at the End.
It’s especially sad that Scrimm did not live to see the release of the final film in the beloved Phantasm series. The world will not be quite the same without him. Our condolences go out to those close to him.
