Stephen King attended a special screening of Guillermo del Toro’s Crimson Peak and took to Twitter after the event to sing the film’s praises. After calling the film gorgeous and terrifying, in another Tweet, he said that it electrified him in the same way as The Evil Dead (another film that he was a prominent supporter of upon its initial release) when he saw it for the first time back in the day.
King’s son Joe Hill also praised the film, saying, “Del Toro’s blood-soaked Age of Innocence, a gloriously sick waltz through Daphne Du Maurier territory.”
Crimson Peak will see a US release in October 2015. It stars Tom Hiddleston, Jessica Chastain, Mia Wasikowska, and Charlie Hunnam.
“when a young woman’s heart is stolen by a seductive stranger is swept away to a house atop a mountain of blood-red clay: a place filled with secrets that will haunt her forever. Between desire and darkness, between mystery and madness, lies the truth behind Crimson Peak.”
Was treated to a screening of Guillermo del Toro’s new movie, CRIMSON PEAK, this weekend. Gorgeous and just f**king terrifying.
