Upcoming Paranormal Horror The Other Side Of The Door Debuts Chilling New Clip!

The Other Side of the Door

Upcoming paranormal thriller The Other Side Of The Door is the first, big horror release of the year, following The Witch last month and preceding 10 Cloverfield Lane next week.

The film hits theatres in the US and the UK at the end of this week (March 4th) and, in anticipation of its release, Wicked Horror have scored a brand-new, intensely creepy clip to further whet appetites for what’s to come.

The Other Side Of The Door is directed by Englishman Johannes Roberts (Storage 24) and produced by horror stalwart Alexandre Aja (Haute Tension, Piranha 3D, Horns).

The movie follows a family led by mother Maria (The Walking Dead‘s Sarah Wayne Callies) living abroad, whose quiet life is irrevocably disrupted when a tragic accident leads to the death of their young son. Maria is sent into a spiral of depression, leading her to the mysterious door of the title, which is situated in an ancient temple.

After learning the door serves as a portal between two worlds, Maria tries desperately to communicate with the spirit of her lost child. But, after disobeying a sacred warning to never open the door, the grieving mother discovers she has upset the balance between life and death – with reliably creepy consequences.

The first trailer for The Other Side Of The Door promised spooks aplenty, and the latest clip (below) continues that trend. The film seems to have a sort of Conjuring vibe, with the ancient elements giving its themes of loss and grief some much-needed weight to anchor the scares in the real world.

Check out the clip below, and feel your spine tingle in anticipation.

The Other Side Of The Door hits theatres nationwide on Friday, 4th March 2016
