Legendary vampire fighter, and leather aficionado, Blade’s story seemed to have come to a rather abrupt, and unsatisfying, end with 2004’s universally-panned Blade: Trinity.
The flick, the final installment in the trilogy, was tonally all over the place, serving. more as a showcase for the burgeoning talents of co-stars Ryan Reynolds and Jessica Biel than Snipes himself. Meanwhile, stories of his Method actor-styled, on-set shenanigans are still running wild today.
However, in spite of, well, everything, Snipes remains seems super-eager to get back in the vampire-hunting saddle. Last September, we reported on how he was in talks for a fourth entry in the series.
And, earlier this month, there were rumours that Blade was about to be redeveloped as a Netflix series. Likewise, his story was allegedly supposed to continue in the world of comic books, with series Blade: The Hunter dealing with his 16-year-old daughter.
Although none of these leads seem to really amount to much, Snipes is optimistic about his return, Tweeting this tantalising little tidbit:
When it comes to another BLADE, there’s always a possibility. ?#SharpeningMyTeeth

He also hinted that the delay may be as a result of super-studio Marvel, and that perhaps they weren’t sure what to do with the property:
Balls in Marvels court…

What do you think? Is Blade ready for a fourth outing or has the world changed too much over the past twelve years to facilitate his leather-bound adventures?
