The Victorian Queen Anne style cottage was originally erected around 1909. It originally existed in Williamson County which is currently Round Rock Texas. The dwelling has served as a home to multiple families over the years, in addition to being used during the production of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre.
The home was eventually purchased by The Antlers Hotel in 1998. From there, is was completely deconstructed, relocated to Kingsland, Texas, completely refurbished and opened for business as The Junction House Restaurant.
The Junction House Restaurant closed its doors in 2012 but reopened in 2013 as the Grand Central Cafe. Although human flesh isn’t on the menu you can tuck into decently priced breakfast, steaks and burgers. When making reservations, be sure to request sitting in the “Kingsville” room – that’s where the infamous dining room scenes int Texas Chain Saw Massacre were filmed.
Grand Central Cafe is located at 1010 King Court, Kingsland, TX 78639. For reservations, pricing and hours of operation, you can visit the restaurant’s official site here. If you have visited The Grand Central Cafe or plan to, let us know and post picture links in the comments section below!
