New on Netflix is a weekly feature here at Wicked Horror where we take a look at the latest additions to everyone’s favorite streaming service. It can be tough sifting through all those horror titles, not really knowing what’s worth watching and what isn’t. Sometimes, you know exactly what you’re looking for, but when you go to watch it the title has already been taken down. Here, we do our best to let you know what’s been added and re-added from week to week.
As always, the beginning of the month hit us with a lot of strong material, with some current favorites and old classics alike while the middle sort of leaves us in a dead zone. Hopefully, this picks up throughout the month. We tend to lose a lot at the end of the year, but we gained a lot too, making 2016 look like it’s off to a promising start.
So kick back, relax, make some popcorn or maybe even munch on some candy corn as we bring you what’s new on Netflix for the week of January 22nd.
Curve
2015’s Curve sounds very much like a loose remake of The Hitcher, but may be worth watching for that fact alone. It’s about a young woman named Mallory who is delivering her fiancé’s truck to Denver where they will meet and get married. When she and her sister take a detour to the Grand Canyon, the truck breaks down and a drifter named Christian offers to fix it in exchange for a ride. Things, you might have guessed, go south from there.
Sharknado 3: Oh, Hell No!Never before have I seen a more self-aware and accurate title, but that’s neither here nor there. The franchise has its very clear fans and this should be good news for them. As of today, you can finally view Sharknado 3 on Netflix. This one appears to tell the story of a sharknado that rampages its way from Florida to Washington D.C.
