Last night, Blumhouse announced that they will be getting into the publishing game and Wicked Horror was onsite at the Blumhouse offices for the announcement. Read on for more details about the newly established publishing division of the brand.

Blumhouse’s book publishing arm will represent a collaboration between Blumhouse, Doubleday, and Vintage Books. The first book to be released under the new banner will be The Blumhouse Book of Nightmares: The Haunted City. It is comprised of a series of short stories from a variety of contributors including Ethan Hawke, Eli Roth, Scott Derrickson, C. Robert Cargill, Christopher Denham and James DeMonaco, and several others, as well.

Fans have the opportunity to see their work included in the final version of the book via a submission contest. More details on the submission contest are available here.

The tome will see a multi-platform release – simultaneously arriving in hardcover, paperback, and as an e-book. It will hit shelves in July, 2015.

Blumhouse is a multimedia production company which has collectively produced a series of feature films that have gone on to gross over $1.2 Billion globally. It was founded by Jason Blum. Since its inception, Blumhouse has opened a distribtuion arm and gotten into television production, prior to the announcement of its literary arm.
