Casting And Production News For Duplass Brothers’ Creep 2

Creep and Creep 2

The upcoming sequel to the Duplass Brothers cult indie shocker Creep has started production.

Deadline reports that work has official begun on Creep 2 and that actor-director Desiree Akhavan has signed on to star in the movie.

Akhavan is best known for Appropriate Behaviour, her feature directorial debut, which she also starred in. She also appeared in the fourth season of hit comedy Girls.

On joining Creep 2, Akhavan trilled: “I love Creep and couldn’t be happier about crashing the sequel. Patrick and Mark are inspiring, generous & crazy smart collaborators.”

Creep debuted at SXSW 2014 and went on to be a critical hit. The sequel sees original director Patrick Brice, who co-wrote the new script along with star Mark Duplass, returning to the fold.

Blumhouse’s Jason Blum is exec-producing alongside the Duplass Brothers. Blum was quoted as saying:  “We are in for anything that Duplass and Brice want to do.”

This is massive news for fans of the original, which was a seriously scary little number. Hopefully the sequel will continue in the same vein.
