Female-Fronted Van Helsing Series Heading for the Small Screen, Cast Announced

Van Helsing

The SyFy series Van Helsing is ramping up for a planned release later this year. We have learned the full casting lineup and have an official synopsis to share with you. Head inside for all the latest!

According to TVLine, “The story picks up with Vanessa (daughter of Abraham Van Helsing) being resurrected after five years, only to discover that vampires have taken over the planet; she is now “humanity’s last hope” in the fight to reclaim our world from the undead.” Abraham Van Helsing was first introduced in the 1897 Bram Stoker novel Dracula.

Reportedly, the creative teams behind FX’s hit series Fargo and AMC’s Hell On Wheels will be behind the small screen adaptation of the Van Helsing story. The show went into production in Vancouver, Canada  last month and is expected to make its premiere later this year.

The show will star Jonathan Scarfe, Christopher Heyerdahl, Paul Johansson, David Cubitt, Tim Guinee, and Kelly Overton. Overton will play the lead, Vanessa.  13 episodes of the 60-minute series have already been ordered by the SyFy network.
