Fox’s The Exorcist Locks Down Premiere Date

Fox TV's The Exorcist

Fox has just reached out to share an official premiere date for their small screen redux of William Peter Blatty’s The Exorcist.

The network has revealed that the series will make its debut on Friday September 23rd. Also included in the announcement was a season two premiere date for Scream Queens. That series will make its return Tuesday, September 20th.

As we previously announced, Fox had bumped their order for the small screen redux of The Exorcist from a pilot to a full series order.

The Exorcist series stars Geena Davis, Alan Ruck, Kurt Egyiawan, Hannah Kasulka, Brianne Howey, Alfonso Herrera, and Ben Daniels.

From what we’ve gathered, Brianne Howey will be playing the character that becomes possessed. The pilot was written by Jeremy Slater (The Lazarus Effect). Rupert Wyatt will be assuming directorial duties on the first episode. The show is being described by Fox as “a propulsive, serialized psychological thriller following two very different men tackling one family’s case of horrifying demonic possession and confronting the face of true evil.”

Stay tuned for more on this as it breaks. In the meantime, you can check out the trailer for the forthcoming series in the player below.
