As we perviously reported, the somewhat puzzling Cabin Fever remake landed North American distribution with IFC Midnight. Today we have learned that the film is slated for a day and date release next month. Head past the break for details on that and more!
According to the IFC website, the film will be released in select theaters and on VOD February 12, 2016.
The film used the exact same script as the original (which is just about 14 years old). But the death scenes are reportedly completely different than the original, so it is apparently not really a shot-for-shot remake.
Eli Roth (who co-penned the script for the original film (on which this remake is based) with Randy Pearlstein executive produced the project. It is directed by Travis Zariwny (Intruder).
The remake stars Gage Golightly (Teen Wolf), Samuel Davis (From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series), Dustin Ingram (Paranormal Activity 3), Matthew Daddario (36 Saints) and Nadine Crocker (Deadgirl).
When the remake was announced last year, Roth offered the following insight: “Travis [Zariwny] had an amazing vision for my original script, and as a scary movie fan I really wanted to see it,” said Roth last year. “I almost see this like re-staging a play, and I’m excited to see what ideas Travis and the cast bring to it. They’re all fans of the original and want to make a film that’s a new classic and I believe they will.”
