New Children of the Corn Film Shooting Under Working Title Runaway

Children of the Corn

We have just learned that the new Children of the Corn film that we recently announced was shooting in Oklahoma City is lensing under the title Runaway.  According to BD, filming is set to conclude April 2nd.

We previously reported that John Gulager was expected to be at the helm but this latest round of updates brings word that Alex Lehmann (Camera operator on Feast II and Feast III is directing). Joel Soisson (Children of the Corn: Genesis) penned the screenplay.

The storyline follows a pregnant woman who escapes the clutches of a cult of homicidal children. For ten years following her escape, she lives off the grid to keep her son safe from her past. But she can’t shake the feeling that someone or something is still after her.

It makes perfect sense that the film is shooting in Oklahoma City, seeing as how Dimension was just shooting Hellraiser: Judgment there.

No casting news at this juncture but know that we will keep you in the loop when we learn more about this new development.

The original Children of the Corn film followed a cult of killer kids that worshiped at the foot of He Who Walks Behind the Rows. Linda Hamilton and Peter Horton starred.
