Penny Dreadful Season 3 Date Announced With Teaser!

Fans of the Showtime series Penny Dreadful have been clamoring for a Season 3 release date since Season 2 ended in July of 2015. Until today, we were only greeted with the admission that fans could expect that Penny Dreadful season 3 would return “in 2016”. Tonight, through the release of a teaser trailer on Youtube, fans know we can finally expect Eva Green and the rest of the cast to return in full force on May 1, 2016 at 10pm EST on Showtime. This season promises that “When evil spreads, dread comes for us all.” – I for one, can’t wait!

For those who aren’t familiar with Penny Dreadful, the series follows a plethora of literary characters as they battle the supernatural in Victorian London. We have Dorian Gray played by Reeve Carney is a take on the famed Oscar Wilde novel The Picture of Dorian Gray, Victor Frankenstein, played by Harry Treadaway, is the creator of the famous Frankenstein’s monster of contemporary and classic literary and film fame, and there are a variety of other characters which alternate between being the show writer’s creation and that of famous historic writers. The show is a beautiful romp through Victorian London, so it’s a treat not only for horror fans who wish to see vampires and werewolves at play, but also for those who simply enjoy period dramas. (Rest assured there is always a great deal of drama, given Eva Green’s character Vanessa Ive’s colorful and mysterious past.)
