The feature film adaptation of Alvin Schwartz’s Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark has just announced a series of new additions to the casting roster for the much-anticipated project.
Among the new cast members are Breaking Bad‘s Dean Norris, Gil Bellows (The Shawshank Redemption) and Lorraine Toussaint (Point of No Return).
Previously reported talent includes: Zoe Colletti (Annie), Michael Garza (Wayward Pines), Austin Abrams (The Americans), Gabriel Rush (Moonrise Kingdom), Austin Zajur (Fist Fight), and Natalie Ganzhorn (Make it Pop).
Scribes Dan Hageman and Kevin Hageman (The Lego Movie) cowrote the screenplay with Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan (The Collector) as well as Oscar winner Guillermo del Toro. André Øvredal (The Autopsy of Jane Doe) will be at the helm.

The storyline of the picture sees a group of youngsters who band together to uncover the truth behind a rash of deaths plaguing their small town.
The book, Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark was released in 1981, with More Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark following in 1984 and Scary Stories 3: More Tales to Chill Your Bones hitting shelves in 1991. The series has sold a collective total of more than 7 Million copies globally. With the feature film gaining steam, that number is sure to rise.
