Now that Hostel and Cabin Fever director Eli Roth‘s much anticipated cannibal opus The Green Inferno has an official release date you can feel the excitement with every new screenshot or trailer that he graces us with. This particular one comes just in time for Father’s Day and features Richard Burgi giving his daughter a warning of the terrors in the rainforest. All the while this is intercut with images of cannibals and violence while he chows down on a nice juicy steak. Yum.
The Green Inferno features Lorenza Izzo and her group of activists on a mission to save the rainforests when their plane crashes and the locals want nothing more than to have them for dinner. In a twist of irony these are some of the very people they have traveled across the world to help. Taking obvious influence from grindhouse classics such as Cannibal Ferox and Cannibal Holocaust (whose director even cameo’d in Roth’s previous film, Hostel 2), this is panning out to be a bloody good time.
Be sure to check out The Green Inferno when it hits theaters on September 25th, 2015 and check out the new trailer below.
