We have just learned that Ingrid Bisu (pictured below) has joined the cast of The Nun. Variety reports that she will play Anca, “a Romanian employee of a global consulting firm”.
Bisu (Slaughter) will join previously announced cast members Bonnie Aarons (The Conjuring 2), Taissa Farmiga (American Horror Story), Demián Bichir (The Hateful Eight), Belgian actor Jonas Bloquet, and Games of Thrones actress Charlotte Hope. Bichir will play a priest who is called in by The Vatican to look into the unexplained death of a nun. Farmiga will play a younger version of the titular character. Hope will portray a nun tormented by an evil entity.
As we previously reported, the film had commenced preproduction. The planned release date for the picture is Friday July 13, 2018.
Both Conjuring films and the first installment in the Annabelle series have done huge numbers for New Line.
Corin Hardy (The Hallow) has been tasked with directing the upcoming film for the studio.
The Nun is being produced by Gary Dauberman and James Wan. Actress Bonnie Aarons also played the titular character in The Conjuring 2.
Stay tuned to the site in the coming months for more on this project and the latest in horror news as we learn it.
