New on Netflix is a weekly feature here at Wicked Horror where we take a look at the latest additions to everyone’s favorite streaming service. It can be tough sifting through all those horror titles, not really knowing what’s worth watching and what isn’t. Sometimes, you know exactly what you’re looking for, but when you go to watch it the title has already been taken down. Here, we do our best to let you know what’s been added and re-added from week to week.
As always, the beginning of the month hit us with a lot of strong material, with some current favorites and old classics alike while the middle sort of leaves us in a dead zone. Hopefully, this picks up throughout the month. We tend to lose a lot at the end of the year, but we gained a lot too, making 2016 look like it’s off to a promising start.
So kick back, relax, make some popcorn or maybe even munch on some candy corn as we bring you what’s new on Netflix for the week of March 4th.
Narcopolis
Narcopolis is set in a future where all recreational drugs are legal. That’s basically the central conceit, but it’s at least an interesting concept. Main character Frank Grieves is an officer responsible for keeping black market runners off the streets in order to keep the rich drug companies in business. But the discovery of a body leads to the unraveling of a larger mystery in this flawed but imaginative sci-fi/thriller.
Hell and BackHell and Back is an imaginative horror comedy with an all-star cast including Mila Kunis, Bob Odenkirk, T.J. Miller, Rob Riggle, Susan Sarandon and so many more. It’s got a simple enough plot, centering on two friends who plan a rescue after their other friend is dragged to hell. It’s a horror plot we’ve seen before, but to see it with such a huge cast in an animated format is definitely a unique approach.
